ABSTRACT

Now that a firm theoretical foundation for participatory creativity has been established, and suggestions for setting up a participatory creativity classroom have been put forth, this chapter offers readers an exciting glimpse into a variety of settings where one can see participatory creativity in action. Set in a diverse array of teaching and learning environments throughout the United States and abroad, each of the “pictures of practice” described in this chapter foregrounds one or more of the four key concepts described in Chapter 2, applies a variety of the participatory creativity practices described in Chapter 3, and demonstrates one or more of the tools and strategies described in the tool kit offered in Chapter 5. Rich with documentation and teacher (and student) voice, each vignette offered in this chapter concludes with recommendations for practice.
