ABSTRACT

Using web-based tools is exciting as they can often provide access to large sources of information. Nonetheless, it is easy to waste time and allow students to be distracted by all that is on offer. Technology is a useful learning tool when used wisely. Technological tools include the Internet, electronic databases, word processors, electronic journals, online library catalogues, e-mail, chat and discussion lists. The Internet (or Net) has become a complicated worldwide network in the relatively short time of its history. Searching for information is easier and more efficient when students have a clear idea of what they are actually searching for. This might seem like a trivial statement but when the students are challenged constantly by new ideas and theories it is easy to stray from the actual goal. Critically analyse student's information, particularly the information get from the Internet. Unlike books, which go through a screening procedure before publication, documents can be published on the Web by anyone.
