ABSTRACT
In this chapter you will learn strategies and tools for fostering better communication skills in our students. Beyond the development of language skills in our classroom, students need to learn how to communicate and collaborate with one another in various settings, contexts and using different media formats. Through the use of different digital tools and teaching strategies, we can help students to build confidence and peer collaborations in the classroom and connect our classroom on a global scale. Through the use of digital tools which promote communication and collaboration, such as blogging, video creation and podcasting, we can enhance student learning by creating more meaningful connections and providing different formats for students to convey their thoughts. The ideas shared will be applicable to in-person and remote learning and can be put into practice quickly. Learn how to make slight shifts in teaching strategies to help students develop these essential skills.
