Finger play is a common but puzzling behavior especially observed in children with autism. What do children experience when they engage in finger play? Chizuko Fujita provides experiential explications of the child Mathew’s finger play. She compares the activity of finger play with the child’s activity of playing on the swing. How are these experiences the same, and how are they different?
