ABSTRACT

The author’s experiences of life and theatre in the 60s at school and then the University of Manchester. The history of Century Theatre in Manchester under the directorship of Braham Murray, later joined by Michael Elliott and Casper Wrede when they developed Theatre 69 and then the Royal Exchange. The visit of Grotowski and his company to Manchester University with The Constant Prince, and its influence on the author’s ideas through the revolutionary late 60s at Manchester University.
