ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I discuss the framework from which we have undertaken our research and our focus on Latinx Critical Resilience. I outline the process by which we came to investigate this area, including our original research intents and how they have progressed throughout the undertaking of this research line. I provide information on the methodological approaches we have chosen and why. The positionality of the researchers, a necessity called for in qualitative research, is provided as context for the information presented in this book, so that the reader may understand the lens through which interpretations were made. The importance of the selection of research method from a social justice angle, in order to prevent epistemological violence, is also discussed.
