ABSTRACT
An in-depth map study should be done using the most up-to-date maps and satellite imagery available for that area. There are some additional things that need to be looked for when doing route selection. In this type of operating environment, route selection becomes probably one of the most important things the reader does in protecting the client. The hazards, threats, and other problems are increased enormously due to several factors that are not present in less medium or low risk environments. Hostile environments or war zones are inherently an unstable operating environment for several reasons. There can be local areas of control where people or parties control certain areas in a larger area that the reader need to pass through. In a hostile environment or war zone, these kinds of publicity events are amplified in their importance because of the environment they are taking place in.
