ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the urban regeneration and development concept and manifests the ways big data can positively support its sustainable regeneration. A conceptual framework of the classics of the data-centric regenerative built environment is presented to theorize the circular approach in the integration of key elements of people, space, time, sustainable place components and big data technology and how to implement big data applications in the design-led regenerative urban informatics. Furthermore, the suitable tools and sources of collecting, managing and sorting voluntary, automatic and monitored big data in urban environments are introduced, categorized and analyzed.
