ABSTRACT
For Kind Leaders having a clear understanding of the top three reasons why unkindness happens is extremely important. It doesn’t matter where or in what situation and circumstance we are wearing Leader Hat, those reasons are the same. As a leader, unkindness is going to happen because we people are people and respond to competition and cycles of fear with unkindness. As a Kind Leader, recognizing when things are going unkindly, and then helping people change their actions, reactions and interactions from unkind to kind ones is the way we will actively break the cycle and create a kinder world. Unkindness is also going to happen because people are people. As human beings people are hardwired for negativity bias, to assume ‘negative intent’, so it’s difficult not to get involved in unkind ways of acting, reacting and interacting with others.
