ABSTRACT

The purpose of this book is to contribute to the emergence of a conception of humanity that cannot be disconnected from its environment. It implies going beyond the “application” of psychoanalytic theories to a reassessment of the core elements of metapsychology. The subject/object separation, which is the epistemological foundation of sciences as well as psychoanalysis, is also the basis which the consumerist and managerial ideology of financial capitalism brought – through its “globalization” – to an extreme point where it leads humanity to self-destruction. In order to give itself the means to reflect on this essential problematic, psychoanalysis needs to reconsider the way it deals with this “naturalist” ontology. This involves the metapsychology – starting from a topic perspective - and the concept of reality.
