ABSTRACT

Climate change and global warming have become two of the biggest threats to sustainable future human and business developments globally. Industrialisation and fossil fuel consumptions have contributed to significant rises in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and extreme climate incidents globally. Looking ahead to 2100, the various climate change impacts are likely to result in higher temperature increases and rising global warming. The frequencies of climate-induced extreme weather incidents are likely to rise further. These include flooding of coastal cities, heavier rainfalls, stronger hurricanes, droughts, etc. These extreme climate-induced weather incidents are likely to have major negative impacts on various countries and cities globally. Countries and governments globally are coming to realise that joint global actions against climate change and global warming are required urgently. However, there are many challenges and hurdles to overcome. Details of the future climate change outlooks and their serious implications on sustainable business and net zero carbon emission in addition to carbon neutrality developments globally will be discussed further in this chapter.
