ABSTRACT
Linkages between pandemics and urban planning are neither new nor novel. For decades, urban planners have sought to understand how effective urban planning can contribute to positive public health outcomes, including the management of infectious diseases. This chapter provides a comprehensive review of the existing literature on the role of urban planning in ensuring greater urban resilience towards pandemics. We also discuss the urban responses that emerged in response to Covid-19 across the world.
