This chapter from section 9 to 12 of the Act, (analogous to Sections 8A, 8B, 8C and 8D of Chapter IIA of Wakf Act 1954), pertains to the establishment, composition and functions of the Central Waqf Council. The Central Waqf Council is a statutory body established in the year 1964 by the Government of India under section 8A of the Wakf Act 1954 (present sub-section 1 of section 9 of Wakf Act 1995). The provision for the establishment of the Council was made vide Wakf Amendment Act (Amendment Act 34 of 1964). This amendment was incorporated in the Wakf Act 1954 by inserting Sections 8A, 8B, 8C and 8D. The Kazmi Bill of 1952 had also made a provision for the establishment of Central Wakf Council.
