ABSTRACT

The third and the most important chapter of this book explains the manipulative layer of the two flagship magazines of Daesh: Dabiq and Rumiyah. Based on their multi-layered content and comparative analysis, this part focuses on identifying devices of propaganda, as well as the means of argumentation exploited by their editorial staffs. It also discusses the specificity of messages utilised by them to manipulate, mobilise and recruit readers. This includes the designation of its enemies, promotion of martyrdom, as well as calls for recruitment, violence, and conversion.
