ABSTRACT

Manuela Infante is a current leading figure of contemporary Latin American theatre. She is known to be a provocative and innovative artist amongst her generation. Her career demonstrates theatre’s ability to constantly challenge established ideas of reality, the power dynamics within and outside theatre, and that ultimately, theatre can do more than just represent the world. With a distinctively philosophical dramaturgy, her latest work positions the medium of theatre at the forefront of artistic experimentation by using the stage to reimagine what it means to be a human in the twenty-first century.
