ABSTRACT

Paula González is a Chilean theatre director, documentary filmmaker, playwright, actress, and musician. She self-identifies as a member of the Mapuche community, which includes indigenous groups from the southern regions of Chile and Argentina. In 2008, she and her sister, Evelyn González, founded KIMEN Teatro, which was later renamed KIMVN Teatro in 2016. The group operates as a multidisciplinary collective that engages theatre, music, and audiovisual arts in its creative practice. Mapuche culture, tradition, and identity fuel their creative work and their pieces aim to bring attention to social, political, and historical issues of importance to the Mapuche community.
