ABSTRACT

John Leguizamo is an actor, comic, playwright, screenwriter, producer, and author. Although primarily known for his film and television career, Leguizamo is one the most accomplished and celebrated Latinx writers and solo performers in US theatre: his one-man shows, most of which have been adapted for television, have garnered him a Primetime Emmy Award, Obie Award, and two Drama Desk Awards (1998 and 2011), as well as four Tony Award nominations. His celebrated solo shows include: Mambo Mouth (1991), Spic-O-Rama (1993), Freak (1998), Sexaholix … a Love Story (2001 and 2003), Ghetto Klown (2011), and Latin History for Morons (2018).
