ABSTRACT

Grupo Cultural Yuyachkani is a Peruvian theatre collective that celebrated their fiftieth anniversary in 2021. The group is known for their representation of the diverse cultures and languages of Peru, in addition to their humanitarian work, which takes place through their performances and other projects using theatre as a tool for personal and social healing. In 2000, the group received the Peruvian Human Rights Award for their collaboration with the Peruvian Truth and Reconciliation Commission which addressed a nearly twenty-year period of internal conflict in Peru.
