ABSTRACT
This chapter points out that interpreters were needed after the official end of the war, in settings such as concentration camps in Spain and in France or in the context of the so-called Blue Division, a contingent of several thousand troops sent by Franco to help Hitler’s Wehrmacht in their campaign against the Soviet Union (1941–43). It concludes with a discussion of the long-term impact of the Spanish Civil War.
