ABSTRACT
The deepening and accelerated process of the mainlandization of Hong Kong's education system can be seen immediately after the imposition of the national security law, which requires local schools and universities to implement national security education. Although pro-Beijing educational interest groups and teachers’ unions remain relatively weak, they are expanding to assist the HKSAR government to implement national security education and to promote deeper understanding of the Chinese culture and history in the psyche of Hong Kong students.
