ABSTRACT
This chapter analyzes the characteristics of China’s tariff structure as well as its evolution from 2000 to 2014. To be specific, the chapter mainly depicts the changes of average tariff, tariff variance, and tariff peaks in the overall level (HS2-digit industry), and the import composition and the elasticity of imports in the HS 4-digit level (industry level). In addition, the characteristics of products with the lowest and the highest tariff in each year are analyzed at the tariff change level.
