ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 analyzes the characteristics and the evolutionary trends of the tariff structure of the U.S. It mainly focuses on and delineates the features of tariff structure at the overall level, industry level, and the tariff change level. In addition, the chapter presents a summary of the similarities and the differences of the tariff structure between China and the U.S. at the end, and it is revealed that both China and the U.S. are with the obvious cascading tariff structure.

This chapter analyzes the characteristics and evolution trends of the U.S. tariff structure, focusing on three levels, that is, the overall level, the industry level, and tariff change level. In the meantime, in conjunction with the series of analyses on the characteristics of China’s tariff structure in Chapter 1, the end of this chapter presents a summary on the comparison of the differences in the tariff structures of China and the U.S.
