ABSTRACT

The Sino–U.S. trade war started in early 2018 has attracted the close attention of both researchers and policy makers. Chapter 3 first summarizes the timeline and present the major events of this trade friction to the present. Then, the chapter discusses the potential impact of such trade friction on enterprises in semi-conductor industry in the U.S., and provides a comprehensive overview of the several strategies that Chinese enterprises could take to face the shock of Sino–U.S. trade friction, each supplemented with a relevant case study, from both the long-and short-term perspectives.
