ABSTRACT
The chapter critically synthesizes the contributions and findings discussed throughout the book with a view to pushing forward the fields of textbook studies and textbook discourse analysis. In particular, it discusses why situating textbook discourse requires us to articulate ethnographic and multimodal research, what the implications of this partnership are, and what the future agenda of textbook research might look like. By also identifying limitations, the chapter discusses current research gaps and future work in the field
