ABSTRACT

The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach to education has become increasingly popular as a way to individualize learning and fully realize inclusion. This book offers a unique perspective on implementing UDL in preschool through third grade. The authors introduce the DECAL principle that all early childhood educators should be prepared to work effectively with children and families from different experiences, cultures, abilities, and languages. They explain the connection between UDL and developmentally appropriate practice (DAP). The features of the book include guided questions, teacher tips, and examples from the field. Updated content addresses new ways of providing emergency remote learning supports that include all children.
