ABSTRACT

The chapter begins with a description and discussion of strategy, its role in program planning and its component parts – plans and tactics. This is followed by an explanation of the distinction between theory of change logic models and program logic models. Focusing on the program logic model, program outcomes are discussed within the context of SMART objectives. Using the OurKids AfterSchool case example, the program logic model begins to take shape with examples of the impact and short- and medium-term outcomes.
