ABSTRACT

In order for a psychological provider to engage in effective videoconferencing services, they must utilize appropriate systems that can facilitate a smooth, consistent, and successful process. Chapter 6 details system considerations applicable to videoconferencing services. Discussions first highlight the role of hardware, including the importance of the central processing unit (CPU) and random access memory (RAM). Hardware-based discussions are then supplemented with a detailing of software considerations, including the role of operating systems, browsers, and antimalware programs. As systems may sometimes be accessed by unintended individuals, means of limiting use are outlined, including the utility of physical and technical restrictions.
