Introduction

This introduction provides a wide array of entry points into this groundbreaking approach to acting training, ranging from my professional experiences as a Latinx actor over a 35-year career, to research driven results as an educator in America’s top acting institutions, and my in-depth exploration into mythic imagination. I begin by guiding the reader through a comparative analysis between method acting and mythic acting. I then provide an overview of the chapters in the book by outlining the exercises, prompts, and ways of accessing and interpreting the actor’s deepest creative sources.
