However, the mixed ANOVA can be used in any situation where there is one between-subjects independent variable and one within-subjects independent variable. There are no new assumptions in the mixed ANOVA that authors have not already encountered in previous designs. However, there will be three effects of interest in this chapter, authors focus on how to interpret a significant interaction. Note that the jamovi menus for the mixed ANOVA do include options for post-hoc tests. Returning to our example earlier about anti-bullying programs in a school, the authors will illustrate how to conduct the mixed ANOVA in jamovi. Just like with the factorial ANOVA, in the mixed ANOVA if there is a significant interaction, they focus all of our interpretation on the interaction.
