ABSTRACT
This chapter examines debates around forms and types of development funding, from overseas development aid to remittances, via the world of philanthropy and ‘new’ donors. Through an overarching consideration of arguments for and against development aid, this chapter reflects on the entwining of politics and economics, and the ways in which shifting geopolitical landscapes both influence and are evident in the changing landscapes of funding for global development.
