ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 discusses the role of nationalism and immigration in educational policy. In the United States, nationalism has resulted in struggles of over the Pledge of Allegiance, the content of textbooks and the instruction of immigrant students and unaccompanied and homeless undocumented students. Language of instruction has been a major area of dispute.
