ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 focuses on the economics of education. During the pandemic, educators argued that reliance on online learning is increasing income and racial inequality. Human capital theory claims that investment in schools will increase economic growth and eliminate poverty. The theory has been a justification for student college loans. There is also the ongoing issue of the sources of school funding and how that money should be used.
