ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces a new ontological theory of moral properties that is the best fit for moral relativism. Upon criticizing major ontological views from moral relativists, I lay down a natural constructivist account that makes a token-token identity claim. I argue that moral properties are token identical to a compound of certain natural non-reductive and reductive properties. This chapter displays the numerous virtues of this theory and defends it from a variety of objections, such as various open question arguments. Finally, I elaborate on how to proceed with normative ethics and moral epistemology given the truth of moral relativism.
