ABSTRACT

This chapter presents examples for applying the grammar and logic stages to a domain; it requires that you focus first and foremost on understanding the essential knowledge (structures) and guiding rules and precepts of a given domain (skills/practices). The examples outline history, geography, civics, economics, science, mathematics, reading, language arts, foreign languages, technology, and philosophy. Each one outlines key factual knowledge and skills to engage with at grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages for learning. Educators can enhance student learning experience through purposeful connection across disciplines, and this chapter helps educators see key ideas within each of these domains to foster productive cross-content discussions, dialogues, and debates.
