ABSTRACT

This section outlines whom this book is designed to help. These include coaches working with creative and neurodivergent clients, creative professionals such as musicians and visual artists, as well as adults diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who find themselves stuck career-wise due to problematic thinking and emotions. Where psychodynamic interventions fall short, this book offers supplemental approaches that enable solutions to longstanding problems undermining an individual’s success. This chapter also outlines the author’s journey from a theater artist to a coach specializing in helping ‘creatives and entrepreneurs who feel pulled in fifty directions’. It covers her early influences including the writings of Barbara Sher and Julia Cameron. The author’s subsequent professional development arising from her innate ability to facilitate support groups formed by her to accomplish her own creative goals is also relayed.
