Director's Steps in Creatinga a Shooting Plan

For beginning directors, I suggest doing a shot list and floor plan for every scene. I still make shot lists for each scene but only do floor plans for the ones with more-involved blocking. I do storyboards for the more complex scenes involving stunts, action, or visual effects. Working with a storyboard artist is discussed in Chapter 16.
