ABSTRACT

Every group in society deserves the right to have access to therapy that is both supportive and non-judgemental. This chapter focuses on diversity in client groups based on age, ethnicity, and gender presenting for therapy and explores how each group may benefit from pluralistic sand-tray therapy. Current research on each topic is incorporated into the discussion, and the author draws on her own clinical experience, giving specific examples of how working creatively using pluralistic sand-tray therapy was helpful to clients from diverse groups. Some potential barriers related to specific groups are highlighted, and guidance is given to overcome potential blocks to the therapeutic process.
