ABSTRACT

This chapter provides perspectives and guidelines for making decisions about the continuous development and improvement of mental health programs for athletes and others in a sport organization, based on program evaluation information. First, it offers a rationale for why it is necessary to make mental health program decisions in a purposeful, informed, and systematic manner. Second, the chapter discusses what it means to develop and improve mental health programs in a sport organization (i.e., parameters). Third, it gives guidelines and a framework for communicating and using mental health program evaluation information as a basis for making informed program decisions. Practitioner exercises conclude the chapter.
