ABSTRACT

In the previous chapters, all steps of the Mission Possible-program are described in detail. This last chapter takes a closer look at the different aspects of coaching. As a facilitator of the program, the coach is able to influence the client’s process directly. This chapter gives an overview of all the possible pitfalls of working in a Solution Focused way, but of course, not without also offering a way out. It provides various ideas for the coach to influence a client’s process when the answer to a question isn’t moving past an ‘I don’t know.’ Gaining insight into the techniques for consciously influencing the coaching process will help become an effective Solution Focused coach.

Since coaches bring themselves to the table as the instrument they work with, this chapter looks at the necessary conscious awareness of adopting a ‘not-knowing’ attitude. This chapter helps readers gain a better understanding of the somewhat elusive subject of the impact of their ‘presence’ and other ‘difficult’ subjects.
