ABSTRACT

Courses are shaped by the basis on which the students attend them, and are therefore broadly subdivided into three categories: full-time courses, which normally include sandwich courses of all types; part-time day courses which frequently include block release courses; and part-time evening courses. Part-time day courses are taken by students who are released from work with pay by their employers to attend college, normally for one full day a week or the equivalent in half days. Higher National Diplomas and Certificates are awarded on the successful completion of courses in a wide range of subjects in the fields of science, technology, building, business studies, agriculture, printing and institutional management. In the field of Art Education the nomenclature of courses is different from that of the other sectors of further education and in the past decade the whole course structure has been simplified and rationalized.
