ABSTRACT

The unprecedented population transfer in China has brought about many social issues, among which the education of migrant children attracts the most scholarly attention. This chapter locates migrant children’s education issues and educational choices in a context that provides related policy, social, and economic background. To explore migrant students’ educational choices, including school enrollments choices, academic achievements, and further promotion choices, this part outlines and sketches the mixed methods and data collection process. With a brief introduction to the structure and content of the entire book, it helps readers better understand this book’s arguments and innovations.
