ABSTRACT

This chapter uses discrete choice model to analyze educational choices of migrant children’ choices for the next stage after primary school and middle school. In analysis of the qualitative interview transcripts, it summarizes that the phenomenon of migrant children becoming “child labor” and “early married girls” after middle school is not uncommon. Therefore, the key to solving migrant children education should start with increasing migrant children’s school choices and loosening admission requirements. It is necessary to enroll more migrant children in public schools, and strengthen the supervision for migrant schools
