ABSTRACT

The price at which a product or service is offered in the market is important; it literally determines the buyer. More importantly, pricing decisions can determine whether a business continues or ceases to operate. Universities are no exception to “pricing problems,” especially private universities. This chapter discusses how pricing decisions are made in general to ensure continuity and/or profitability of organizations. The discussion narrows down to tuition (referred to as tuition fees outside the United States) which is the price for “lessons” in universities. The chapter also discusses other pricing-related issues.
