ABSTRACT

From our collective personal experiences as commencing psychologists many years ago and currently as course coordinators, the transition from a psychology postgraduate degree to the health workforce can represent a steep learning curve, and as an early-career psychologist, you may face challenges during this period. Hence, this chapter considers how a newly registered psychologist can successfully navigate the early procedures of work when embarking on a long-waited psychology career. This chapter is divided into two sections. First section outlines the professional responsibility you have as an employee or contractor of the profession, and second section outlines the personal responsibility you have to oneself.
