ABSTRACT

In Will Storr book, The Science of Storytelling, he said, There’s simply no way to understand the human world without stories. There is less time to explore the things that are important to them, in a world where the rules are their own. The sad reality of nowadays is, children are rarely listened to by adults. Poetic language works well in an oral culture. The use of rhythm and rhyme helps storytellers to remember long sequences of events as well as making them more memorable to their audience. In 1928, Russian children’s poet Kornei Chukovsky published a book about his observations on the poetry contained in children’s early language development. In 2019, a group of archaeologists in Indonesia uncovered paintings on the walls of a cave that they believed were the first artwork ever to depict a fictitious story.
