ABSTRACT

The CoATT Model is comprised of seven “movements”: Recruitment, Discovery, Generation, Intensive, Rehearsal, Performance, and Launch. The group moves through a recovery process, and a performance may unfold in a series of these movements. To understand the process of the model, this chapter considers each of the seven movements with a focus on two factors: How does this movement support a therapeutic group process of recovery? and How does this movement support the creation and production of a performance? This chapter explores techniques and challenges typically encountered in recovery through performance.
