Social Problems and Moral Panics During the Trump Administration

This chapter focuses on how social media platforms have presented drug-related violence and spillover violence through the lens of the border spectacle of the illegal immigration threat. It provides evidence on how framing is used to set up drug-related violence as a social problem for Mexico and how spillover violence is presented as a moral panic for the US.
