ABSTRACT
The chapter provides an overview of key findings regarding the framing of gun trafficking and drug-related violence as social problems and spillover violence as a moral panic. It provides a comparative discussion of these issues from two different time periods, 2009–2012 and 2016–2019. It addresses the role that social media plays in framing these issues, which are moral panics and social problems.
