ABSTRACT

Filled with contemporary art and retro furniture, a Fosbury & Sons venue has a grown-up aesthetic, designed to feel more akin to the home than the office. Fosbury & Sons shows how the co-working office can make life joyful without being all fun and games. Co-working is central to the concept, but the idea goes beyond the idea of the individual, freelance worker. Private offices and shared workspaces are all part of the mix, and they are accompanied by a variety of communal facilities, lounge areas, meeting rooms and event spaces. There are spaces for individual work such as sending emails or carrying out admin tasks, where it can be beneficial to have some background noise and activity. Unlike the playground-style workspaces popularised by the likes of Google and Facebook, there are no gimmicks – no beanbags, no ping-pong tables and certainly no slides.
