ABSTRACT

In a remote village in north Serbia, a formerly rundown estate is now a live/work destination for digital nomads. Combining co-living and co-working, Mokrin House is a place where both individuals and groups from around the world come to pursue creative projects, build relationships and improve their wellbeing, away from the distractions of the city. Mokrin House offers free use of its co-working facilities to village residents, to support the local economy. Mokrin House’s architecture is designed to appear open and welcoming in both its layout and details. The design aesthetic throughout Mokrin House is deliberately clean and minimal. Branimir Brkljac believes that architecture and design is one of the reasons why guests keep returning to Mokrin House: that the estate offers them the same level of quality they can find in a city, coupled with the luxury of having nature all around.
